Jakarta is a haven for fine dining seekers, and we never ran out of new ones to indulge. Another brand new Italian place is OSO at the Altitude, the Plaza building Jakarta. You might still remember Gaia Italian that used to be at the same spot. It turns out that OSO is managed by the same Singaporean company. Chef Nazario Orlando, an Italian himself, is the head chef at OSO Jakarta, as well as the previous restaurant – Gaia.
OSO interior is very much alike with Gaia but transformed into more sleek, romantic setting. I love the added crystal chandeliers and the soft colored furnitures. The feel here is more classic and modern at the same time.
The menu here is authentic Italian with more choices of specific pasta like Gluten free, wheat subtitute, etc. I tried some of their signature dishes today and here they are:
Cesare Salad (IDR 90.000): Very creamy, lots of protein salad consisted of Smoked Chicken, Parmigiano, egg, bacon and greens.
Four Seasons Pizza (IDR 180.000): Eight slices of thin crust pizza with four different flavors: Tomato and Cheese; Mushroom, Salame,Ham ; Olives and Artichokes; Mix Seafood. The pizza was just average for me. Good ingredients but mediocre taste. The mix seafood has calamari that a little bit smelly for me.
Galletto (IDR 180.000): Spring Chicken with Capsicum Fondue, roasted Potato. The presentation was beautiful. The chicken was cooked nicely, a little bland for me but good.
Uni Spaghetti (IDR 200.000): Gorgeous looking Sea Urchin and clam pasta. The pasta was al dente, the seafood was fresh, the sauce was spicy, savory with tantalizing flavor. This one is my favorite.
Crostata (IDR 70.000): Delicious chocolate tart with crunchy crust and melted middle, and Vanilla gelato.
The visit to OSO Ristorante was a beautiful experience, wasn’t perfect but I would love to have some more of their amazing pasta.
